A Rich History
The Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival has a storied history that dates back to 1953. Originally conceived as a week-long tour coinciding with the Mobile Jaycees’ Azalea Trail and Mardi Gras celebrations, the festival showcased the talents of Eastern Shore residents through various exhibits and craft demonstrations. Over the decades, it has evolved into a three-day event that now attracts nearly 300,000 visitors, transforming Fairhope’s population of 25,000 into a bustling hub of artistic celebration.
